En este estudio los resultados se expresaron con frecuencias y porcentajes para las variables cualitativas y la media con su desviación estándar para variables cuantitativas. En el análisis estadístico se empleó la prueba de chi cuadrado y t student, además se calculó el riesgo relativo de la mejora clínica, en los pacientes con artritis reumatoide, como parámetro de efectividad en relación al uso de Anti-CD y Anti-TNF. Resultados: No se apreciaron diferencias significativas al tratamiento respecto a género, lupus eritematoso sistémico, nivel de educación, dislipidemia, síndrome de Siogren, Esclerodermia enfermedad mixta del tejido conectivo, polimiositis y panarteritis nodosa entre los pacientes de ambos grupos de estudio (p>0.05), pero si se apreció diferencia significativa respecto a la edad y tiempo de enfermedad (p<0.05); la efectividad del Anti-CD20 en la mejora clínica en pacientes con artritis reumatoide fue de 19/29= 66%, la efectividad del Anti TNF en la mejora clínica en pacientes con artritis reumatoide fue de 21/29= 72%, sin embargo, no se encontró diferencia significativa en la mejora clínica de pacientes con artritis reumatoide entre anti-CD20 y anti-TNF. Conclusión: El Anti-CD20 no es más efectivo que el Anti-TNF en la mejora clínica de pacientes con artritis reumatoide

Material and methods: A prospective observational cohort study was carried out in which 58 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were included, according to selection criteria, which were divided into 2 groups: exposed to treatment with Anti-CD20 (Rituximab) and exposed to treatment with Anti-TNF (Etanercept). In this study, the results were expressed with frequencies and percentages for qualitative variables and the mean with its standard deviation for quantitative variables. In the statistical analysis, the chi square and t student tests were used, in addition, the relative risk of clinical improvement was calculated in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, as an effectiveness parameter in relation to the use of Anti CD20 and Anti-TNF. Results: There were no significant differences in treatment regarding gender, systemic lupus erythematosus, level of education, dyslipidemia, Sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma mixed connective tissue disease, polymyositis and panarteritis nodosa between patients in both study groups (p>0.05), but there was a significant difference regarding age and time of illness (p<0.05); the effectiveness of Anti-CD20 in clinical improvement in patients with rheumatoid arthritis was 19/29= 66%, the effectiveness of Anti-TNF in clinical improvement in patients with rheumatoid arthritis was 21/29= 72%, however, there wasn´t found a significant difference in the clinical improvement of patients with rheumatoid arthritis between anti-CD20 and anti-TNF.
