En este contexto, se argumenta que el proceso de aprendizaje del diseño debe integrar habilidades convergentes, como la resolución de problemas dentro de ciertas limitaciones, y habilidades divergentes, como el pensamiento creativo y la capacidad de imaginar nuevas soluciones. Los estudiantes, al desarrollar su pensamiento reflexivo-crítico, enfrentan desafíos en la formulación adecuada de problemas de investigación y en la identificación del estado del arte, los cuales se abordan a través de sus habilidades convergentes.
