The objective of this thesis was to determine the risk of anemia in children under 6 years of age from the Kumamoto - El Porvenir human settlement. For which 51 blood samples obtained from the finger pulp were used. The biochemical determinations of hemoglobin (Hb) were based on the colorimetric method taking into account the range for children from 12.9 g / dl to 16.9 g / dl and the hematocrit (Hto) by the microhematocrit method, with a range of 36 to 43 %. For this purpose, a survey was applied where general data, nutritional aspect, lifestyle and family background were collected. Finding for the age factor, 9.8% in children from 2 to 3 years, 35.3% in children from 4 to 5 years and 11.8% in children at risk of anemia; according to sex, obtaining 23.5% for men and 33.3% in women with risk of anemia and according to their BMI, obtaining 45% in children with low weight, 3.9% normal weight, 2% risk of overweight and 5.8% risk of overweight. Applying the Chi square statistical test, revealed that there is no significant relationship between them (p> 0.05). It is concluded that it was determined that there is a risk of anemia in children under 6 years of age from the Kumamoto - El Porvenir human settlement
