Sumario: | ABSTRACT Quantitative and non-experimental research of descriptive, cross-sectional correlational type; The objective of this study was to establish the relationship between lifestyle and metabolic control: body mass index, glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, lipid profile in mature adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus -that attended the attention module of the Hospital de Especialidades Básicas La Noria- 2015. The sample consisted of 20 patients with diabetes mellitus type 2, for the data collection 02 instruments were used: a characterization instrument to identify clinical characteristics and the Instrument to measure the lifestyle in diabetics (IMEID),account for ethical considerations. The results are presented in double entry tables, in relation to lifestyle, it was found that 15.0% have an unhealthy lifestyle, and 40.0% are healthy and 45.0% have an unhealthy style. In relation to metabolic control we found an 85.0% body mass index at an adequate level, and a 75.0% with glucose at a permissible or at risk level and a 60.0% with glycosylated hemoglobin at an adequate level (<6%) and with a 65.0% of patients have an adequate lipid profile. Finding the significant relationship in lifestyle and metabolic control: glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin and lipid profile. The Chi square statistical test was used, with a statistical significance of 5% probability. |
