description La presente investigación se llevó a cabo en el laboratorio de Crianza de Paratheresia claripalpis Wulp., del Departamento de Entomología, en la Estación Experimental Casa Grande S.A.A. entre los meses de noviembre del 2011 a octubre 2012. Tuvo por objetivo utilizar nuevos ingredientes, para obtener larvas de mayor tamaño, peso y porcentaje de recuperación, para ello se aplicó un diseño completamente al azar y se evaluaron las siguientes variables, tales como porcentaje de recuperación de larvas, longitud y peso promedio de las mismas en el IV y V estadio. Los resultados muestran que la D1 y D3 elaboradas con nuevos ingredientes presentan mayor porcentaje de recuperación de larvas, con 93,20% y 81,03% respectivamente, mayor longitud de larvas con 30,17 mm y 25,05 mm referente a las dietas mencionadas, así como un 26,16 mg y 20,43 mg de peso de larvas respectivamente.
