This research deals with the study of the strategical planning of and the tourist sustainable development of Honqopampa, which is located in the community center of Atoqpampa, district of San Miguel de Aco, in the Province of Carhuaz, in the Ancash Region. The strategical planning, within the focus of the sustainable tourist development, is a valuable instrument that is used to analyze the entire aspect of each tourist activity on a determined site. This is why this study is based on the analysis of the tourist development in Honqopampa in relation to the key facts regarding the strategical planning to develop it. These facts are the following: The mechanisms of harmonizing for the management that has been established are individual, short term, and carried out by private interests companies, public institutions, NGOs, and local officials and leaders; the local people have an increasing interest in participating in the tourist development, especially the families that are involved in the activity; the organization of the territorial tourism is expressed in the existence of a superficial tourist inventory; the real and potential environmental ecological, sociocultural, economical and positive and negative impacts identified in Honqopamapa are produced by the tourist activities that have been developed; the current tourist offer of Honqopampa is limited and its demand is oriented toward the conventional and alternative tourist activities; the environmental education of the local people in tourism is deficient because of the superficial and intermittent training and the sensitivity aspects that have been carried out; and finally, the promotion and commercialization of Honqopampa is being carried out carelessly and inadequately without having a plan of promotion and commercialization that might guarantee its consolidation and competitiveness as a tourist site. Therefore, we can conclude by saying that the results of this study reflect the necessity of consolidating the facts of the strategical planning as the viable mechanisms and policies, which might guarantee the tourist development of Honqopampa considering its three elementary principles: ecological, sociocultural and economic sustainability to raise its competitive level and to improve the quality of life in this community center. Finally, the methodological contribution of this study is the use of the analytical quantitative-qualitative method, and the ethnographical method using the techniques of direct observation without the participative, structured interviews and surveys.
