Sumario:The present research work is a descriptive study. We investigated the nutritional status and its relationship with the socioeconomic level of the adults attended in the health center "El Trópico- Huanchaco". The population consisted of 59 people between 18 and 82 years of age. The nutritional status was determined by Waterlow Anthropometric Indicators such as Weight / Height and Height / Age ratio, Waist / hip ratio, Body Mass Index, Body fat percentage and Protein reserve. According to the study, according to Waterlow's anthropometric indicators, 54% presented obesity, 44% normal status and 2% acute malnutrition. According to the BMI, 1.69% are thin, 52.5% normal, 30.5% overweight and 15.3% obese. In the percentage of body fat, 32.2% in normal weight, 25.4% in limit, and 42.4% obesity. The waist / hip ratio which indicates cardiovascular risk, 8.5% without risk, 30.5% low risk and 61% high risk. In the relationship of the socioeconomic level and the variables of Body Mass Index, Waist / Hip Index and Fat Percentage, applying the chi-squared test, it showed statistically significant significance (Value of p: 0.0138, 0.0075 and 0.0335 respectively). Overweight and obesity constitute a public health problem, the study showed that there is a high percentage of the population with obesity and a high cardiovascular risk. These indicators are related to the socioeconomic level of the population
