Sumario:The present research was carried out with the purpose of determining the relationship between the positive mental health criteria and the academic performance of the students of the Faculty of Nursing - National University of Trujillo 2016. The sample consisted of 96 Nursing students who met the inclusion criteria. For the data collection, the instrument was used: scale for assessing Positive Mental Health, elaborated by Lluch (1999) adapted in our environment by Mendo (2014) And the format of Academic Performance developed by MINEDU (1993, modified in 2003). To analyze the behavior of the study variables, it was performed using descriptive statistics, using the Chi square test to determine the degree of relationship between variables. After the analysis, it is concluded that the criteria of Positive Mental Health significantly influence Academic Performance, showing that if the level of Positive Mental Health criteria is raised, it will positively impact academic performance.
