Descripción
Sumario:This study aimed to develop a video game with gamification elements to improve mathematical learning in primary school students, specifically in addition and subtraction operations, key competencies for the second grade. An evaluation of the students' academic performance and motivation was carried out using a quantitative approach. A pretest-posttest experimental design with a control group was used for this study. The results showed that the group that used the video game obtained a superior performance and experienced greater satisfaction compared to the control group, which received traditional teaching. It is concluded that using gamification through educational video games can be an effective strategy to increase both learning and motivation in mathematics.
