The professional development to which every university student aspires will have as a base pillar the decision of the career line, that is, the specialization that determines to continue with their professional training, that is why the present investigation I propose as an objective to identify the factors that influence the choice of the accounting specialty in the accounting students of the UNAP, for which 100 university students of the last career levels were considered as a study population, applying a questionnaire-type data collection instrument with a reliability of Cronbach's Alpha of 0.877 and a study with a quantitative approach, a cross-sectional descriptive type and a non-experimental design was planned, in which it was identified that the role model is the most influential personal factor with 63%, that the professional training experience is the academic factor most influential with 66%, as job opportunities are the most influential factor Within the labor factor, the research concluded that the most required specialty is tax accounting and auditing, with environmental accounting being the least required, that for students the labor factor is the most influential, followed by the personal and academic factor, demonstrating that there are factors that influence the choice of accounting specialty.
