Sumario:Urban noise is one of the most detrimental factors for public health in our city of Iquitos, for this reason we have the purpose of determining the relationship between urban noise and insomnia in adults of the Avenida Participación, as a methodology we measured the levels of urban noise in 45 monitoring points located at the intersections of the Avenida Participación, In accordance with the Peruvian Technical Standard ISO 1996 - 2021, which establishes the Class I sound level meter as an instrument, and to determine insomnia in adults, a Sleep Disturbance Questionnaire-SDQ was applied to 330 people and classified according to the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, whose results show that the average urban noise level is 77.5 decibels, considered "insomnia". 5 decibels, considered as "annoying" and for insomnia in adults, 0 people without insomnia (scale 0-18), 109 people with onset of insomnia (scale 19-28) and 221 people with insomnia (scale 29-60), where 66.7% represent people with onset of insomnia and 33.3% with insomnia. We conclude that there is a relationship between urban noise and insomnia in 54.6%.
