Descripción
Sumario:In the labor market, the average salary offered by private sector companies is higher than that of the public sector; however, the number of workers employed in public agencies is greater. While it is true that private companies pay more, it is also true that the required standards are greater and are related to the business unit's value generation. The aim of this doctoral thesis seeks to demonstrate whether the remuneration offered is associated with the number of workers by type of sector. To this end, historical series of the behavior of the variables are analyzed, which is why this research is classified as quantitative; in addition to being correlational due to the aforementioned search for associations. Since the data were not intentionally altered nor was the environment changed, the design is non-experimental. The main conclusion is that average wages bear no relation to the number of public sector workers in Loreto, studied during the five-year period 2019–2023. The majority of workers work in the public sector (55.33%), despite salaries being comparatively lower than those in the private sector. Workers considered fourth-tier providers are more likely to work in the private sector, with 83.71% of this segment. Despite all the vicissitudes, the number of companies operating in Loreto has shown an upward trend over the five-year period studied.
