Methodology: Samples were collected for convenience, micropulverized and subsequent preparation of extracts evaluated by spectroscopic analysis at concentrations of 100, 250, 500 and 1000 ug/mL where millipore water was used as a dilution medium and the drug acarbose as test control. Results: The ethanolic extract of bobinsana bark at a concentration of 100 ?g/mL showed better inhibition % than the ethanolic extracts of bobinsana and matico leaves; even against the positive control (acarbose). However, the bobinsana bark extract evaluated at concentrations of 500 and 1000 ?g/mL showed more than 50% inhibition of ?-glucosidase; being contrary to the extract of bobinsana leaves that only at the concentration of 1000 ?g/mL exceeded 50% inhibition; the ethanolic extract of matico leaves did not show an inhibition greater than 50% on ?-glucosidase. An IC50=424.71 ?g for the bobinsana bark extract indicated that at this concentration it produced inhibitory activity; against an IC50=968.43 ?g for extract of bobinsana leaves and an IC50=29778.28 ?g for extract of matico leaves. Conclusions: the extract of bobinsana bark showed a better IC50 than the extracts of bobinsana and matico leaves, since it was the most active inhibitor. |

Objetivo: Determinar la actividad inhibitoria in vitro de los extractos de Calliandra angustifolia Spruce ex Benth (bobinsana) y Piper aduncum L. (matico) sobre la ? – glucosidasa. Metodología: Se recolectaron muestras por conveniencia, micropulverizadas y posterior preparación de extractos evaluados por análisis espectroscópico a concentraciones de 100, 250, 500 y 1000 ug/mL donde se utilizó agua millipore como medio de dilución y el fármaco acarbosa como control de la prueba. Resultados: El extracto etanólico de corteza de bobinsana a una concentración de 100 ?g/mL mostró mejor % de inhibición que los extractos etanólicos de hojas de bobinsana y matico; incluso frente al control positivo (acarbosa). Sin embargo, el extracto de corteza de bobinsana evaluada a concentraciones de 500 y 1000 ?g/mL mostraron más del 50% de inhibición sobre la ?-glucosidasa; siendo contraria al extracto de hojas de bobinsana que sólo a la concentración de 1000 ?g/mL superó el 50% de inhibición; el extracto etanólico de hojas de matico no mostró una inhibición mayor al 50% sobre la ?-glucosidasa. Un IC50=424,71 ?g para el extracto de corteza de bobinsana indicó que a esta concentración produjo actividad inhibitoria; contra un IC50=968,43 ?g para extracto de hojas de bobinsana y un IC50=29778,28 ?g para extracto de hojas de matico.
