This study examines the relationship between the nominal exchange rate and inflation in the Loreto region, Peru, during the period 2015-2020. It seeks to understand the dynamics of these variables and their impact on economic stability and regional development. Through data analysis and comparison with the existing literature, a positive but relatively weak relationship is found between the nominal exchange rate and inflation in Loreto. In addition, the influence of other factors is highlighted, such as the stability in the supply and demand of imported products and monetary and fiscal policies. The results support the importance of the exchange rate in inflation and indicate the effective management of the monetary authority in the region. These findings have relevant implications for economic policy and regional development in Loreto, highlighting the need to closely monitor exchange rate fluctuations and adjust policies accordingly.
