Sumario:Introduction: The consumption of psychoactive substances generates a level of dependency and acquired tolerance, aggravating their health with pathologies at the pulmonary, hepatic, and carcinogenic levels; however, there are episodes of aggression, intoxication due to overdose or suicide where the person has difficulty coping with real, work or marital conflicts, with reclusion being frequent. Objective: To determine the prevalence in the consumption of psychoactive drugs, in experienced users in the Legal Medical Unit Region II-Loreto, 2020. Methodology: The descriptive study had as study subjects expert persons, registered in the Forensic Toxicology Service, period 2020, according to the Loreto Maynas Region II Public Ministry database. Results: A proportion of 0.17 women for each man was found; with a range of prevalence in terms of ages: from 40 to 49 years (30%) 18 to 28 (20%), while from 56 to 70 the percentage only reaches 12%; According to marital status, married people reach 22%, single 60%, widowed 10%, divorced 8%; with a level of instruction of incomplete secondary 32%, incomplete primary 41%, higher 5%, incomplete higher technical (22%). According to the type of alkaloid surveyed, the statistics indicate PBC (70%), Marijuana (25%), opium/ecstasy (5%). Conclusions: The consumption of these substances begins in adolescence and prevails in adulthood, being related to the level of education, where the majority of users are male, prevailing the level of incomplete secondary and technical education, appreciating high levels of increase in adults, which reflects the ignorance of the risk to which they are exposed.
