Descripción
Sumario:This research analyzes the relationship between corruption and the management of public resources in Peru, specifically in the awarding of the good and its impact on public investment and current spending during the period 2011-2023. Using a quantitative approach and a non-experimental design, Spearman's correlation coefficient was applied to evaluate the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate a significant negative correlation between corruption and efficiency in awarding the good, as well as a decrease in public investment levels and the effectiveness of current spending. These findings suggest that corruption negatively affects both transparency and efficiency in the management of public resources, limiting the economic and social development of the country. The research highlights the need for structural reforms in public procurement and auditing mechanisms, to reduce the incidence of corrupt practices. In addition, specific recommendations and proposals are presented to strengthen transparency and accountability in public administration. This study provides new perspectives to understand the magnitude of the impact of corruption in the Peruvian public sector and suggests paths to improve governance and sustainable development.
