Sumario: | The current research, entitled "Traditional Ecological Knowledge of Stingless Native Bees, Sairi, Urarina Community of Santa Martha, Tigrillo River, Loreto, Peru, 2023", took place in the Urarina community of Santa Martha, Urarinas district, Loreto province, Loreto department, in Peru. Its main objective is to describe the traditional ecological knowledge of stingless native bees in an Urarina community in the Tigrillo River sub-basin, in such a way that it describes the ethnotaxonomy of stingless native bees, their processes of transmission of this knowledge, and whether they themselves help to conserve and maintain sustainable utilization. This study includes a mixed-method approach, descriptive in nature, where ethnography was considered as the qualitative design, and survey design was considered for the quantitative part. For data collection techniques, semi-structured interviews, participant observation, focus groups, and surveys were considered. The study involved 165 individuals, grouped into 31 families. The research results allowed for the assessment of the knowledge of the Urarinas of Santa Martha community and the promotion of traditional ecological knowledge to conserve stingless native bee species, as well as other species of flora and fauna. |
