Sumario:The present investigation was developed with the objective of evaluating whether the generation of organic solid waste produced by the commercialization of fresh fish is properly disposed in the Bethlehem and Model markets, as well as quantifying the amount of solid waste that is generated. The research was observational, prospective, transversal and descriptive; a simple evaluation was made based on the systematic collection of data, with a simple descriptive design, studying a given situation without introducing any element that varies the behavior of the variables. A sample was made for the convenience of the researcher, among the group of people who sell these products, working with 100% of the population under study: Belén Market 20 people and the Model Market 15 people who sell fresh fish. The information was processed using inferential statistics. The results of the research show us that there is no evidence of a management of organic solid waste that is generated as a result of its commercial activity, being arranged in the collection sites by the municipality. A per capita generation of viscera was calculated for the Bethlehem market of 1.8565 Kg / vend. / Day and for the model market of 3.363 Kg / Vend. / day; with a monthly and annual generation projection for both markets of 1.1Tn / month and 13.36 Tn / year for the Bethlehem market and 1.5Tn / month and 18.16 Tn / year model market. There is no proposal by the traders to change the way of handling the waste generated, so the hypothesis raised in the research work is rejected, because it was not possible to show that the people who generate this waste dispose of adequate them.
