Sumario:This research aimed to analyze the relationship between social media addiction and the development of social skills in sixth-grade primary school students at I.E.P. No. 601426 Intipacari, located in Ramón Castilla, during 2024. The study followed a basic approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 83 students, to whom a survey based on a structured questionnaire was applied for data collection. The findings revealed that the level of social media addiction was high (49.4%), as was the level of social skills (49.4%). Statistical analysis confirmed a significant relationship between both variables (p=0.000). Likewise, the dimensions of obsession with social media, lack of personal control, and excessive use of these platforms showed a positive and statistically significant association with social skills.
