| Sumario: | This study examines the relationship between public investment in individual health and the nutritional health of children under 5 years old in the Loreto region, Peru. Information on the prevalence of anemia and chronic malnutrition in the child population was collected, and the impact of health investment on these indicators was analyzed. The results revealed a significant association between total health investment and investment in individual health. As total health investment increased, there was a proportional increase in investment in individual health. However, a negative relationship was found between the rates of anemia and chronic malnutrition and investment in individual health. This suggests that as the prevalence of these conditions increases, resources allocated to individual health investment may be compromised. Furthermore, it was highlighted that the magnitude of the relationship between health investment and the nutritional health of children was relatively small, indicating that other factors, such as the quality of health services and socioeconomic conditions, also play an important role. |
