Departamento Académico de HorticulturaEn la presente investigación se evaluó el efecto de cuatro densidades de siembra sobre el rendimiento y calidad del cultivo de pimiento (Capsicum annuum L.) cv. Aristotle en la zona de Cayalti. Se evaluó el comportamiento fenológico del cultivo, el cual duró 6 meses desde el mes de junio hasta diciembre del 2022. El diseño experimental empleado fue DBCA con cuatro tratamientos y bloques o repeticiones. Los tratamientos fueron densidades de siembra T1 (45,854 plantas/ha), T2 (50,065 plantas/ha), T3 (54,815 plantas/ha) y T4 (60,102 plantas/ha); entre hileras tuvieron distanciamiento a 0.4 m y distanciamiento de surco a 1.8 m. Las variables evaluadas fueron: altura de planta, fenología (botones, flores, cuajas y frutos por planta), índice diferencial de vegetación normalizada (NDVI), porcentaje materia seca, rendimiento aprovechable por hectárea y calidad de fruto (peso promedio de fruto y diámetro del fruto). Bajo las condiciones del distrito de Cayalti, la densidad de siembra influyó sobre el rendimiento siendo la óptima el T3 la cual obtuvo rendimiento aprovechable de 105.53 tm/ha, densidades superiores a esta obtuvieron menor rendimiento. En cuanto a la calidad de fruto presentaron diferencia significativa entre los tratamientos, siendo el T1 con mayor distanciamiento entre plantas respecto al resto de tratamientos el que tuvo la mayor longitud y ancho de fruto. Acerca de la fenología, la altura de planta máxima ocurrió a los 90 días de cultivo teniendo el T2 el mayor resultado con 69.6 cm; el máximo número de frutos por planta lo obtuvo el T3 con 5.96 frutos, sin embargo, disminuyó al aumentar la densidad de siembra. Respecto al porcentaje de materia seca tuvo diferencia significativa para todos los órganos; mientras que, el NDVI no tuvo diferencia significativa sobre la densidad de siembra.In the present investigation, the effect of four planting densities on the yield and quality of the pepper crop cv. Aristotle (Capsicum annuum L.) in the Cayalti area. In addition, the phenological behavior of the crop was evaluated, which found 6 months from June to December 2022. The experimental design used was DBCA with four treatments and blocks or repetitions. The treatments were the planting densities transplanted to T1 (45,854 plants/ha), T2 (50,065 plants/ha), T3 (54,815 plants/ha) and T4 (60,102 plants/ha); between rows they had spacing at 0.4 m and furrow spacing at 1.8 m. The variables evaluated in the treatments were: plant height, phenology (buttons, flowers, fruit sets and fruits per plant), normalized vegetation differential index (NDVI), percentage of dry matter, usable yield per hectare and fruit quality (average weight of fruit and diameter of the fruit). Under the conditions of the Cayalti district, the planting density influenced the yield, being the optimal T3 which obtained a usable yield of 105.53 tm/ha, densities higher than this acquisition lower yield. Regarding the quality of the fruit, there was a significant difference between the treatments, with the T1 with the greatest distance between plants compared to the rest of the treatments being the one with the greatest length and width of the fruit.
