Maestría en Recursos HídricosEl cambio climático puede alterar los patrones de lluvias acumuladas y también el inicio, fin y duración de la estación lluviosa, impactando en la disponibilidad de recursos hídricos para la agricultura y en los medios de vida de la población que depende de dicha actividad. Por este motivo, la presente tesis tiene como objetivo determinar la distribución espacio temporal presente y futura del inicio, fin y duración de la estación lluviosa en el Perú. Para este propósito, se usó datos de precipitación diaria de estaciones distribuidas a nivel nacional del SENAMHI, así como datos de modelos climáticos del CMIP6. Se identificaron 10 regiones homogéneas en los cuales se analizó la variabilidad anual y tendencias históricas. Para el análisis de cambios futuros, se aplicó un proceso de reducción de escala estadística basado en corrección de sesgos mediante la técnica Quantile Delta Mapping y además se estimó el Tiempo de Emergencia (ToE) el cual permite identificar el año en el que los cambios futuros son significativos. Los resultados evidenciaron tendencias significativas históricas (1981-2019) de adelanto del inicio e incremento en la duración únicamente en la Amazonía Sur. Por otro lado, los acumulados de lluvia cuentan con tendencias significativas de incrementos en diferentes regiones. La corrección de los modelos climáticos evidenció mejora en la representación de la estacionalidad y los acumulados. Los cambios futuros demostraron retrasos en el inicio para las regiones Pacífico Centro-Sur, Sierra Sur Oeste y Amazonía. Asimismo, la duración de la estación lluviosa presentaría una reducción en la Amazonía Centro-Norte. Los acumulados aumentaría para todas las regiones, a excepción de la Amazonía Centro-Norte. El ToE para el inicio, fin y duración se presentaría a fines de siglo y solo en algunas regiones, mientras que los acumulados de lluvia cuenta con cambios significativos a partir de 2070 en adelante y en la mayoría de regiones.Climate change may alter patterns of accumulated rainfall and also the onset, cessation and duration of the rainy season, impacting the availability of water resources for rainfed agriculture and the livelihoods of the population that depends on such activity. For this reason, this thesis aims to determine the present and future spatio-temporal distribution of the onset, cessation and duration of the rainy season in Peru. For this purpose, daily precipitation data from stations distributed nationwide were used, as well as data of climate models from CMIP6. 10 homogeneous regions were identified to analyze the variability and trends of the historical data. For the analysis of future changes, a statistical downscaling process based on bias correction was applied using the Quantile Delta Mapping technique. Additionally, the Time of Emergence (ToE) was also estimated to find the year in which future changes are significant. The results showed significant trends (1981-2019) of earlier onset and increased duration only in the Southern Amazon. On the other hand, the accumulated rainfall has significant trends of increases in different regions. Future changes showed delays in the onset for the Central-South Pacific, South West Andes and Amazon regions.
