Maestría en NutriciónEl objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar el efecto del zumo de Sanky (Corryocactus brevistylus) sobre los marcadores bioquímicos de riesgo cardiovascular en ratas Holtzman con hiperlipidemia inducidas experimentalmente. Se utilizaron 28 ratas distribuidas aleatoriamente en cuatro grupos con siete repeticiones cada uno. Cada grupo experimental recibió, durante 30 días, uno de los siguientes tratamientos: T1, Dieta obesogénica (DO); T2, DO + Lovastatina (0.5 mg/Kg/día); T3, DO + zumo de Sanky (Sanky 5 ml/Kg/día) yT4, DO + zumo de Sanky (10 ml/Kg/día). La lovastatina y el zumo de Sanky fueron administrados por vía orogástrica. Durante el ensayo se registraron el peso vivo inicial y final, ganancia de peso y consumo de alimento. Luego, al final del periodo experimental se colectaron muestras de sangre de cada animal para luego realizar las determinaciones de glucosa, triglicéridos y HDL Los datos registrados fueron sometidos a ANOVA bajo un Diseño Completamente al Azar y la comparación de medias se realizó a través de la prueba de Tukey, ambos usando el software estadístico MINITAB 18. Los resultados mostraron que los tratamientos no influenciaron (p>0.05) los pesos vivos, ganancia de peso ni consumo de alimento. Sin embargo, los animales que recibieron el tratamiento 4 (T4) mostraron el promedio más bajo de triglicéridos y el nivel más alto de HDL (p<0.05) en comparación a los de los otros tratamientos; asimismo, tendió a disminuir el nivel de glucosa sanguíneo. En conclusión, el zumo de Sanky, al nivel de 10 ml/kg/d, tiene un efecto hipolipemiante, mayor que el fármaco comercial evaluado.The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of sanky (Corryocactus brevistylus) juice on biochemical markers of cardiovascular risks in rats with experimentally induced hyperlipidemia. Twenty-eight rats, randomly distributed in four groups with seven repetitions each, were used. Each experimental group received, for 30 days, one of the following treatments: T1, Obesogenic diet (OD); T2, OD + Lovastatin (0.5 mg/kg/day); T3, OD + Sanky juice (5 ml/kg/day) and T4, OD + Sanky juice (10 ml/kg/day). Both lovastatin and sanky juice were orogastrically administered. During the trial, initial and final live weight, weight gain and feed intake were recorded. Then, at the end of the experimental period, blood samples were collected from each animal for glucose, triglycerides and C-HDD determinations. The recorded data were subjected to ANOVA under a Completely Randomized Design and the comparison of means was performed through Tukey's test, using the MINITAB 18 statistical software. The results showed that live weight, weight gain and feed intake were influenced (p>0.05) by the dietary treatments. However, the animals that received Treatment 4 (T4) showed the lowest and the highest (p<0.05) triglycerides and HDL levels, respectively, compared to those of the other treatments; likewise, it tended to decrease the blood glucose level.
