Departamento Académico de FitotecniaEl presente trabajo de suficiencia profesional es un resumen de la experiencia en el manejo agronómico del cultivo de Caña de Azúcar (Saccharum offficinarum L.) bajo condiciones del valle Pativilca. El objetivo fue presentar a detalle todas las labores del proceso productivo desde el diseño de campo, pasando por las distintas labores culturales propias del cultivo, hasta la cosecha, se hace énfasis en la importancia de la ejecución oportuna de cada labor. Se llegó a la conclusión de que las claves para un cultivo de caña de azúcar son diversas. Entre las cuales se encuentran: un correcto diseño de campo, una buena preparación de terreno, la elección de la variedad más productiva y mejor adaptada a la zona. Además, es necesario un adecuado suministro de agua acorde a la etapa fenológica del cultivo, lo que garantizará un desarrollo adecuado que permitirá obtener un mayor rendimiento en peso. Por otro lado, el rendimiento en sacarosa estará determinado por los días de agoste y semanas de madurante, teniendo en cuenta el suelo y la época del año en donde esté madurando la caña.This work professional sufficiency is a summary of the experience in the agronomic management of the sugarcane crop (Saccharum officinarum L.) in the Pativilca valley, Lima. The objective was to present in great detail all the tasks of the production process starting with the field design, the different cultural activities of the crop and the harvest, with emphasis in the timely execution of each activity.
