Departamento Académico de HorticulturaEn la presente investigación se evaluó el efecto de 4 arreglos de albahaca en asociación con pimiento (Capsicum annuum L.) con el objetivo de analizar la rentabilidad de la asociación entre el cultivo de pimiento y albahaca. El diseño experimental empleado fue DBCA con cuatro tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones. Los tratamientos fueron arreglos de siembra T1 (Pimiento en monocultivo), T2 (Pimiento en asociación intercalado con albahaca cada surco), T3 (Pimiento en asociación intercalado con albahaca cada tres (3) surcos) y T4 (Pimiento en asociación intercalado con albahaca cada cinco (5) surco); el distanciamiento entre plantas fue de 0.4 m y distanciamiento entre surcos fue de 1 m. Las variables de evaluación fueron: peso promedio del fruto, longitud y diámetro promedio del fruto, número de frutos por planta, peso total de los frutos por planta, rendimiento por m2 , calidad de fruta y análisis financiero. Además, en la evaluación sobre plagas fueron: población de trips, de Prodiplosis longifila, de lepidópteros y población de la familia coccinélidos. La asociación de albahaca influyó en el rendimiento de pimiento, siendo el T2 el mejor tratamiento, el cual obtuvo una rentabilidad del 45% y un 92% de frutos de primera calidad, presentando diferencias significativas en ambas variables con el T1. Así mismo, en el número de frutos/planta y peso total /planta resulto que el T3 obtuvo 12.07 frutos/planta y 1731.8 gramos/planta, respectivamente, presentando diferencias significativas en ambas variables con los demás tratamientos. Con respecto a las variables de plagas en el T1 obtuvo mayor incidencia de trips y lepidópteros, en comparación con los demás tratamientos. El T2 obtuvo los mejores resultados en rentabilidad con un 45%, y con una producción de 45.82 kg/m2 en rendimiento en la presente investigación, pudiéndose considerar una alternativa en el manejo integrado de plagas para el cultivo de pimiento.In the present investigation, the effect of 4 arrangements of basil in association with pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) was evaluated with the objective of analyzing the profitability of the association between the cultivation of pepper and basil. The experimental design used was DBCA with four treatments and four repetitions. The treatments were planting arrangements T1 (Pepper in monoculture), T2 (Pepper in association intercropped with basil every row), T3 (Pepper in association intercropped with basil every three (3) rows) and T4 (Pepper in association intercropped with basil every five (5) groove); The distance between plants was 0.4 m and the distance between rows was 1 m. The evaluation variables were: average fruit weight, average fruit length and diameter, number of fruits per plant, total weight of fruits per plant, yield per m2, fruit quality and financial analysis. The association of basil influenced the yield of pepper, with T2 being the best treatment, which obtained a profitability of 45% and 92% of first quality fruits, presenting significant differences in both variables with T1.
