Departamento Académico de Gestión EmpresarialLa deserción estudiantil es un problema que involucra a todos los centros de estudios y tiene que ver con la disminución de estudiantes y las consecuencias que esta acarrea. Las causas para que este suceso se origine son varias, entre ellos, se encuentran las características académicas inherentes del estudiante, tales como las bajas calificaciones obtenidas, carencia de conocimientos y habilidades con las que concluyen el nivel secundario para atender las exigencias académicas, falta de atención de los padres de familia en el aspecto académico, falta de motivación e interés para realizar su labor educativa por parte del estudiante, etc. Esta investigación presentó como objetivo analizar y proponer estrategias de gestión para reducir la deserción estudiantil, que permitan mantener la cantidad de alumnos y en el mejor de los casos aumentar la población estudiantil, y con ello asegurar un mayor número de egresados del centro de estudios para tener mayor participación en el sector educativo. El estudio se inició con la revisión de la cantidad de estudiantes matriculados en el primer semestre, en el proceso se realizó un seguimiento en el avance académico de los cursos transversales, asimismo, se brindó acompañamiento en la formación y adaptación social del estudiante. Las conclusiones del estudio reflejaron que el índice de deserción disminuyó en un 9% en el periodo 2018-2019, con estos resultados se fortalece la aplicación de las estrategias de gestión y se augura que fue un buen indicador para lograr el objetivo de la investigación.Student’s desertion is a problem that involves all schools and has to do with the decrease in the number of students and the consequences that this entails. The causes for this event to happen are several, among them are the inherent academic characteristics of the student, such as low grades obtained, lack of knowledge and skills with which they conclude the secondary level to meet the academic demands, lack of motivation and interest to perform their educational work, parents´ lack of attention in the academic aspect, etc. The objective of this research was to analyze and propose management strategies to reduce student desertion in order to maintain and, in the best of cases, increase the student population, and thus ensure a greater number of school graduates who can have further performance in the educational sector. The study began with a revisión of the number of students enrolled in the first semester. In the process, the academic progress of the cross-cutting courses was monitored and support was provided for the student´s training and social adaptation. The conclusions of the study reflected that the dropout rate decreased by 9% in the period 2018-2019.
