Maestría en Producción AnimalSe condujo un experimento con el objetivo de evaluar el rendimiento reproductivo de codornices japonesas de diferentes edades y pesos en el inicio del empadre. La investigación tuvo una duración desde los 45 hasta los 115 días de edad de los reproductores y fue realizado en la Unidad Experimental de Avicultura de la Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina. Para ello se emplearon 486 hembras y 162 machos reproductores de 45, 52 y 59 días de edad con 130, 140 y 150 gramos de peso alojadas en 9 baterías de estructura metálica distribuidas previa clasificación en 9 tratamientos con 3 repeticiones de 24 aves cada uno en una relación de tres hembras por un macho. Se realizaron 10 semanas de evaluación de la producción y 4 estimaciones de 54 huevos de codorniz midiendo pesos y diámetros. Se emplearon también 1757 huevos que fueron colocados en la incubadora. Los resultados fueron analizados utilizando el Diseño en Bloques Completamente al Azar con Arreglo Factorial y revelaron que la edad y el peso de las reproductoras tienen un efecto altamente significativo (p<0.01) en la mayoría de variables evaluadas. Los valores más altos obtenidos en donde hubo efecto significativo de la edad y peso de las reproductoras en las características productivas fueron 65.75 en el número de huevos, 46.02 en el porcentaje de postura, 713.92 gramos en masa de huevos, 10.71 en el peso promedio de huevos, 20.85 gramos en el consumo de alimento por ave mostrando los mejores valores las reproductoras de 52 y 59 días de edad con 150 gramos de peso. En las características de calidad del huevo fueron 97.76 en el puntaje de unidades Haugh y 0.202 mm. en el grosor de cáscara mostrando los mejores valores las reproductoras de 52-59 días de edad con 140-150 gramos de peso. En las características reproductivas fueron 64.8 por ciento en la incubabilidad, 68.76 por ciento en la natalidad, 61.16 por ciento en los cotupollos de primera y 6.98 gramos en el peso del cotupollo mostrando los mejores resultados las reproductoras de 52-59 días de edad con 140-150 gramos de peso. Por otro lado, la mayor retribución económica en producción de huevos y cotupollos es obtenido por las reproductoras de 52-59 días con 150 gramos de peso.An experiment was conducted with the objective of evaluating the reproductive performance of Japanese quail of different ages and weights at the start of mating. The research lasted from 45 to 115 days of age of the breeders and was carried out in the Poultry Experimental Unit of La Molina Agrarian National University. To this end, 486 females and 162 breeding males of 45, 52 and 59 days of age were used with 130, 140 and 150 grams of weight housed in 9 metallic structure batteries distributed prior to classification in 9 treatments with 3 repetitions of 24 birds each in a ratio of three females to one male. 10 weeks of production evaluation and 4 estimates of 54 quail eggs measuring weights and diameters. We also used 1757 eggs that were placed in the incubator. The results were analyzed using the Random Completely Blocks Design with Factorial Arrangement and revealed that the age and weight of the breeders have a highly significant effect (p <0.01) on most of the evaluated variables.
