Maestría en Ciencias AmbientalesSe evaluó la variación temporal de la calidad de agua en la bocatoma La Atarjea, Río Rímac, desde un enfoque de análisis multivariante y no-paramétrico. Tres patrones temporales o épocas de calidad de agua fueron determinados mediante el análisis clúster: estiaje (mayo a octubre), transición (noviembre a enero) y avenida (febrero a abril). La variación por épocas se probó significativamente (p<0,0001) por tres modelos de análisis discriminante, clasificándose correctamente entre 66 y 74 observaciones. El NPMANOVA mostró diferencias significativas entre épocas. Las pruebas univariantes muestran variación significativa, entre: las tres épocas (caudal, temperatura, turbidez, CE, SD, alcalinidad, DT, cloruros y Fe); estiaje y avenida (sulfatos, nitratos, nitritos, fosfatos, Cu, Al, Mn, Pb, Zn y As); transición y avenida (Cd) y, ninguna (OD, pH y coliformes). El análisis de componentes principales determinó en dos CPs (55,81 por ciento de la varianza). En el CP1, la contribución más “fuerte” es debida a: CE, Fe, SD, caudal y DT. Por épocas se encontró una relación de dependencia con el caudal sobre el CP1, siendo las variables más importantes: CE en estiaje; Cu, Zn, y Mn en transición y, Al, Fe y Mn en avenida. Las correlaciones, AC y ACP, conformaron tres grupos: formas iónicas; metales y medidas físicas (ambos con variación antagónica) y microorganismos biológicos; el pH y el OD no pudieron ser agrupados.Temporal variation of water quality in the La Atarjea intake, Rímac River, was evaluated from a multivariate and non-parametric analysis approach. Three temporal patterns or water quality periods were determined using the cluster analysis: estiaje (May to October), transición (November to January) and avenida (February to April). The period variation was proven significantly (p < 0.0001) through three discriminant analysis models, with 66-74 observations correctly classified. The NPMANOVA showed significant differences among periods. The univariate tests show ‘significant’ variations, as follow: among the three periods (flow, temperature, turbidity, EC, DS, alkalinity, TH, chlorides and Fe), between estiaje and avenida (sulfates, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, Cu, Al, Mn, Pb, Zn and As), between transición and avenida (Cd) and ‘none’ (DO, pH and coliforms). The principal component analysis determined two PCs (55.81 percent of the variance). Whitin PC1, the ‘largest’ contributors are: EC, Fe, DS, flow and TH. Dependence with flow was found on the CP1 with regard to periods, with the most important variables being: EC in estiaje; Cu, Zn, and Mn in transición and, Al, Fe and Mn in avenida.
