Material y métodos: el estudio se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño descriptivo, de tipo no experimental. La población total estuvo conformada por 78 estudiantes matriculados en los grados mencionados, de los cuales se seleccionó una muestra de 65 alumnos mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Resultados: se observó que el 52 % de los estudiantes presentó un nivel alto de conocimiento sobre ITS. En la dimensión de generalidades, el 55,4% obtuvo un nivel alto; en la dimensión de signos, síntomas y conductas de riesgo, el nivel alto alcanzó el 60%, y en cuanto a los métodos de prevención, el 50,8% demostró un nivel alto de conocimiento. Conclusiones: la mayoría de los alumnos, con edades entre 14 y 18 años, demostró una comprensión elevada de los aspectos generales de las ITS, manifestaciones clínicas y prácticas de riesgo, lo cual refleja una adecuada orientación en salud sexual dentro del entorno escolar.

Material and method: the study was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a descriptive, non- experimental design. The total population consisted of 78 students enrolled in the aforementioned grades, from whom a sample of 65 was selected using non- probability convenience sampling. Results: it was observed that 52% of the students presented a high level of knowledge about STIS.
