description Objetivo: determinar la percepción del riesgo en el uso de plaguicidas asociados a prácticas de trabajo en agricultores de cuatro centros poblados del distrito de Pazos, de la provincia de Tayacaja, en el departamento de Huancavelica. Metodología: presentó un enfoque cualitativo con un diseño no experimental, descriptivo y de corte transversal. Se realizó una encuesta a 200 agricultores del Centro Poblado Santa Cruz de Ila, Mullaca, Tongos y Quishuar, que consistió en 43 preguntas, para indagar sobre las características socioeconómicas, conocimiento, percepciones del riesgo, prácticas de trabajo y síntomas de los individuos que manipulan los plaguicidas. Resultados: se obtuvo que el 93.50% de los agricultores fueron hombres y un 6.5% mujeres. Además, la mayoría tuvo grado de instrucción secundaria completa. Asimismo, el 76.5% respondió no haber recibido una capacitación sobre el manejo seguro de plaguicidas y el control de plagas en los últimos 6 meses. Por otro lado, el 77.5% de agricultores agregaron que el manejo de pesticidas genera algún riesgo para la salud humana y ambiental. Conclusiones: se dedujo que la mayoría de agricultores percibe que el uso de plaguicidas en sus prácticas de trabajo puede resultar dañino para su salud; sin embargo, lo consideran necesario para sus cultivos.

Methodology: it presented a qualitative approach with a non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional design. A survey was made to 200 farmers from the Santa Cruz de Ila, Mullaca, Tongos and Quishuar villages, consisting of 43 questions, to inquire about the socioeconomic characteristics, knowledge, risk perceptions, work practices and symptoms of the individuals who handle pesticides. Results: it was found that 93.50% of the farmers were men and 6.5% were women. In addition, most of them had completed secondary education. Also, 76.5% responded that they had not received training on the safe handling of pesticides and pest control in the last 6 months. On the other hand, 77.5% of farmers added that pesticide management generates some risk to human and environmental health.
