Método: se realizó una revisión sistemática de 10 artículos científicos publicados en los últimos cinco años sobre la prescripción de antibióticos en pediatría. Los estudios seleccionados abordaron errores de prescripción y destacaron la importancia de programas de optimización del uso de antimicrobianos. Resultados: los errores de dosificación fueron los más comunes, seguidos por tratamientos con duraciones inadecuadas. Los antibióticos de amplio espectro, particularmente penicilinas y sus derivados, fueron los más prescritos. Se identificó la necesidad de implementar programas de administración de antibióticos y sistemas de apoyo tecnológico para reducir errores. Conclusión: los errores de prescripción en pediatría representan un desafío crítico que demanda acciones inmediatas. Es necesario fortalecer la adherencia a guías clínicas, implementar programas de optimización del uso de antimicrobianos y promover estrategias basadas en evidencia para garantizar el uso racional de antibióticos en esta población vulnerable.

This study examines good practices in pediatric prescribing, identifying common errors, the most commonly prescribed antibiotics, and strategies to optimize their use. Method: a systematic review was conducted of 10 scientific articles published in the last five years on antibiotic prescribing in pediatrics. The selected studies addressed prescribing errors and highlighted the importance of programs to optimize the use of antimicrobials. Results: dosing errors were the most common, followed by treatments with inadequate durations. Broad-spectrum antibiotics, particularly penicillins and their derivatives, were the most prescribed. The need to implement antibiotic stewardship programs and technological support systems to reduce errors was identified. Conclusion: prescription errors in pediatrics represent a critical challenge that demands immediate action.
