description Objetivo: planificar intervenciones de enfermería para el proceso de cuidado en un paciente con insuficiencia respiratoria aguda tipo II, hospitalizado en el servicio de emergencia del Hospital Casimiro Ulloa, Lima 2025. Material y métodos: se llevó a cabo un estudio de caso clínico, descriptivo y no experimental, utilizando la valoración por patrones funcionales de Marjory Gordon y las taxonomías NANDA, NIC y NOC. La población consistió en un paciente varón de 64 años con diagnóstico de insuficiencia respiratoria aguda secundaria a reagudización de EPOC. Resultados: se halló que, para el diagnóstico de intercambio de gases deteriorado, el 90% de las intervenciones se efectuaron con éxito y un 10% continúa en proceso por la persistencia de dificultad respiratoria. Con respecto a los demás resultados guardan la misma orientación de efectividad. Conclusión: las intervenciones de enfermería fueron mayormente efectivas en la recuperación del paciente, destacando la necesidad de un mayor seguimiento en los diagnósticos de intercambio gaseoso, patrón y respiratorio ineficaz, debido a que entre un 10% de las intervenciones aún se encuentran en proceso, lo que evidencia la importancia del monitoreo continuo para optimizar la evolución clínica y prevenir complicaciones.

Materials and Methods: a clinical, descriptive, and non- experimental case study was conducted using the Marjory Gordon functional pattern assessment and the NANDA, NIC, and NOC taxonomies. The population consisted of a 64-year-old male patient diagnosed with acute respiratory failure secondary to COPD exacerbation. Results: it was found that, for the diagnosis of impaired gas exchange, 90% of the interventions were carried out successfully and 10% remain in process due to persistent respiratory difficulty. Regarding the other results, they maintain the same orientation of effectiveness.
