El método que se utilizó fue descriptivo puesto que se describió las variables observadas en la realidad, siendo transversal, de tipo cuantitativa correlacional. La muestra de estudio estuvo conformada por 187 pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer de pulmón. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario, la cual obtuvo una confiabilidad fuerte de 0,888 y 0,903. Los resultados arrojaron que el 30.48% de los pacientes presentan un nivel bueno con respecto a las medidas preventivas, el 47.06% presentan un nivel regular y un 22.46% un nivel malo, también se evidencia que el 33.16% de los pacientes presentan un nivel alto con respecto a los factores de riesgo, el 40.64% presentan un nivel medio y un 26.20% un nivel bajo. Se concluyó que la variable medidas preventivas está relacionada directa y positivamente con la variable factores de riesgo, según la correlación de Spearman de 0.541 representado este resultado como moderado con una significancia estadística de p=0.001 siendo menor que el 0.01. Por lo tanto, se acepta la hipótesis principal y se rechaza la hipótesis nula.

The method that it used was descriptive since it described the variables observed in reality, being transversal, correlational quantitative type. The study sample consisted of 187 patients diagnosticated with lung cancer. To collect the datum it used as technique the survey and as instrument the questionnaire which has a strength reliability of 0.888 and 0.903. The results have shown that the 30.48% of the patients have a good level on the subject of prevention measure, the 47.06% a regular level and the 22.46% a bad level, also it piu on evidenced that the 33.16% of the patients have a high level of lung cancer risk factor, th 40.64% have a regular level and the 26.20% a low level. It was concluded that the variable of prevention measure is directly and positively related to the variable of risk factor, according to Spearman correlation of 0.541 represented this result as moderate with a statistics significance of p = 0.001 being less than 0.01.
