La población estuvo conformada por personal administrativo, de la cual se seleccionó una muestra de 38 individuos mediante un muestreo no probabilístico. Para la medición de las variables se emplearon cuestionarios validados y confiables. Los resultados evidenciaron que el control interno se relaciona de manera significativa con la gestión contable (r = 0.642; p < 0.05), destacando que la dimensión «ambiente de control» presentó la correlación más alta. Se concluye que un sistema de control interno adecuado contribuye de forma positiva al perfeccionamiento de las operaciones contables, favoreciendo la exactitud, la claridad y el uso eficaz de los fondos públicos institucionales.
