Este estudio se enfocó en tres aspectos fundamentales: el análisis del mercado potencial de platos biodegradables, la rentabilidad del modelo de negocio propuesto y la evaluación de su impacto ambiental. Se aborda el aprovechamiento de residuos agroindustriales, que normalmente se consideran subproductos sin valor agregado, para ser transformados en materias primas para la fabricación de productos biodegradables. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren que, si bien existen barreras iniciales en términos de costos de producción y aceptación en el mercado, el uso de residuos agroindustriales puede generar una ventaja competitiva significativa, contribuyendo al desarrollo de una economía circular y reduciendo la dependencia de plásticos convencionales. Además, los productos derivados del bagazo de caña de azúcar y la cascarilla de arroz presentan una alternativa viable y sostenible para la industria de los utensilios biodegradables, con el potencial de ofrecer soluciones innovadoras y rentables en el mercado local e inter.
