description La investigación tiene como objeto de estudio analizar la asociación entre el crecimiento económico, medido a través del PBI real, y el nivel de desigualdad en el ingreso monetario en el Perú, periodo 2007 – 2020, de tipo aplicada, de nivel descriptiva, de asociación correlacional con diseño no experimental; Por la naturaleza del objeto de estudio, no fue necesario indicar la población y muestra de manera expresa, por el cual se utilizó un muestreo no probabilístico, se consideró los métodos hipotético - deductivo, deductivo – inductivo, analítico – sintético; Como técnica de recopilación de datos, el fichaje y análisis documental, el procesamiento fue de manera computarizada y para el análisis e interpretación se utilizaron tablas y figuras. El resultado y análisis confirmó la hipótesis donde el comportamiento de la serie del crecimiento económico de la economía peruana durante el periodo 2007 – 2011 alcanzo altas tasas de crecimiento y posteriormente hasta el año 2019 hemos tenido una recesión explicada por caídas de inversiones, crisis financieras y en el 2020 por la pandemia COVID-19, lo cual confirma el comportamiento cíclico de la economía peruana
