description In this paper, we reflect about the epistemological characteristics underlying on the interactivity process taking place in the Western Civilization since the second half of the twentieth century with the predominance of the new information and communication technologies. Also, we ask ourselves about the advantages and the disadvantages that people have in the access, management and control of the new information and communication technologies. For that reason, we will review the opinions of some of the main communication and information technology theorists like McLuhan and de Kerckhove.
