Este cine, llamado regional, ha generado a lo largo de 19 años de existencia más de 100 largometrajes y decenas de cortometrajes. La metodología ha comprendido entrevistas en profundidad a cineastas regionales, el visionado, el análisis de películas y la revisión de fuentes bibliográficas. A la fecha, se ha entrevistado a 82 directores de 12 regiones del país. El principal hallazgo es un cine que, más allá de sus limitaciones, representa al país en su variedad geográfica y cultural.
