description Este ensayo tiene como objetivo central explorar el surgimiento del poemario Trilce (1922) como consecuencia de una serie de afinidades electivas y cambios del sistema cultural propios de la época en la que vivió su autor y que le permitieron a este dialogar de manera original y creativa con el espíritu de su tiempo. Se atiende, en especial, a la fuerte influencia de movimientos regionales como el grupo “Norte”, que formó parte del contexto formativo de César Vallejo y cuyos miembros sintonizaban con lo que ocurría en lugares alejados de Lima, como el Sur Andino. En aquella ciudad, eran paradójicamente escritores de origen provinciano quienes impulsaban una vanguardia peruana nacida al margen de la hegemonía y del centralismo de la capital del país.
