Sumario:The objective of this article is to reflect on the challenges of developing digital information competence that face university professors in Peru in the recent context, marked by education in post-pandemic times and the popularization of the use of conversational artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT. This interest arises from the importance of defining and locating this concept within the digital competences that university teachers must develop, especially the one necessary to promote the improvement of the search, selection, evaluation, and storage of information that facilitates disciplinary teaching and learning in the described context. In this sense, some challenges that must be discussed, developed, and investigated within the university academic community are defined, based on a bibliographic review of these concepts in this new context.
