Sumario:The problem of the dropout of students at the higher level represents a situation that generates a deficit not only of an economic nature, but also of a professional human nature, for which it requires specific and immediate attention. This research aimed to determine the protective and risk factors for dropping out of students from second semester of the School of Industrial Administration of a Higher Education Institution in the period 2018-II. A total of 50 students were used for this purpose. The design was non-experimental, transversal in its descriptive variant – simple. For the collection of information, a questionnaire of questions distributed through the development of a survey designed to measure the dimensions of the protection and risk factors that produce the dropout of students in this institution has been used. It has been concluded that: In the personal dimension affects 12%, the social ones 18% and the economic ones 38%. While in risk factors the personal dimension affects 88%, social 82% and economic 62%.
