Descripción
Sumario:This research aimed to compare the profile of executive functions in preschool children with and without a history of moderate prematurity by managing the BRIEF-P scale in its parent form. A non-probabilistic sample was available from 62 participants, parents of children between the ages of 2 and 4, who were born in a hospital in lima city and who attended their regular check-ups at the Growth and Development Clinic of said hospital. The type of study was descriptive compared to two contrasting groups, a clinical group that met the moderate prematurity criterion and the paired control group in age and sex. The profile of the executive functions of children in both groups was obtained from the responses provided by parents on the BRIEF-P (Behavioral Assessment of Executive Function-Children's Version), the results of which were obtained following the TEACorrige online rating system included in the instrument used. The results showed that children with a history of moderate prematurity did not present significant global alterations in executive functioning in relation to their term-born peers. The differences obtained varied specifically in some dimensions of executive performance, particularly in the index of mental flexibility.
