El enfermero especialista no solo brinda una óptima atención tecnológica en diálisis, también está preparado para brindar apoyo emocional al paciente renal y su familia como lo evidencian estudios recientes. Objetivo: Caracterizar la evidencia científica sobre ansiedad y depresión en pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica en hemodiálisis. Metodología: Revisión bibliográfica, cuantitativa retrospectiva. Se realizó búsqueda de artículos en bases de alto impacto, utilizando términos del tesauro DECs y MeSH, uso de operadores boleanos AND y OR, para el control de calidad en la selección de artículos, se tomó el algoritmo de PRISMA. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 25 artículos referidos al tema, siendo Pubmed, Scielo y Scopus las bases con mayor publicación; en España y China se encontraron más artículos, y los años 2021 y 2022 tienen más publicaciones. La prevalencia de ansiedad reportada mayormente se ubica entre 30% y 39%, mientras que la depresión en 40% y 49%. La estrategia mas referenciada es el apoyo emocional que brinda enfermería en las unidades de hemodiálisis. Conclusión: Las bases de datos con mayor publicación son Pubmed y Scielo, se encontró alta prevalencia de depresión y ansiedad; y se destaca el apoyo emocional como principal estrategia para la ansiedad y depresión de pacientes en hemodiálisis.

The specialist nurse not only provides optimal technological care in dialysis, but is also prepared to provide emotional support to kidney patients and their families, as evidenced by recent studies. Objective: To characterize the scientific evidence on anxiety and depression in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis. Methodology: Retrospective quantitative literature review. A search for articles was carried out in high-impact databases, using terms from the DECs and MeSH thesaurus, using AND and OR Boolean operators, for quality control in the selection of articles, the PRISMA algorithm was used. Results: 25 articles referring to the subject were selected, with Pubmed, Scielo and Scopus being the bases with the highest number of publications; in Spain and China more articles were found, and the years 2021 and 2022 have more publications. The reported prevalence of anxiety is mostly between 30% and 39%, while depression is between 40% and 49%. The most referenced strategy is the emotional support provided by nursing in hemodialysis units.
