ResumenEl siguiente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre reanimación cardiopulmonar en los cirujanos dentistas de la ciudad de Chiclayo. El diseño fue descriptivo, prospectivo y transversal. La muestra fué de 98 cirujanos dentistas. Para determinar el nivel de conocimiento se realizó un cuestionario de cuatro dimensiones: definiciones de RCP y PCR, etiología del PCR, cadena de supervivencia y técnica de la RCP y se midió como bajo, medio y alto, según la escala establecida. El 19.4% de los cirujanos dentistas participantes obtuvo un nivel bajo, el 72.4%, nivel medio y 8.2% obtuvo nivel alto. Con el estudio se concluye que el nivel de conocimiento sobre RCP es medio y se recomienda dar mayor hincapié a este tema dentro de la malla curricular educativa de la carrera profesional de Odontología, así como actualizar continuamente y capacitar a los cirujanos dentistas para poder actuar de manera correcta ante las emergencias de paro cardiortespiratorio.Palabras Clave: Conocimiento, reanimación cardiopulmonar, paro cardiaco, odontólogos. (Fuente: DeCS BIREME) AbstractThe following study aimed to determine the level of knowledge about cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the dental surgeons of Chiclayo. The design was descriptive, prospective and transversal. The sample consisted of 98 dental surgeons. To determine the level of knowledge, a four-dimensional questionnaire was carried out: definitions of PCR and PCR, etiology of CRP, survival chain and PCR technique, and classified as low, medium and high, according to the established scale. The 19.4% of the participating dentist surgeons obtained a low level, 72.4%, medium and 8.2% obtained, good. With the study it is concluded that the level of knowledge on CPR is medium and it is recommended to give greater emphasis to this topic within the educational curriculum of the professional career of Dentistry, as well as continuously update and train dentists surgeons to be able to act right way.Palabras Clave: Knowledge, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, heart arrest, dentist.
