Also, the difference between natural sciences and social sciences are described, for it was the origin of the action research approach, mentioning the theoretical contributions of Lewin, Adorno and Habermas. Finally, an assessment of the application of such a perspective in educational environments is presented. Keywords: Action research – education – social sciencesEl objetivo del presente estudio es explorar el concepto de la investigación acción y esbozar su aplicación en el contexto educativo. Con este fin, se describen los conceptos y presupuestos teóricos relacionados a este enfoque, así como se esboza la forma cómo las diferencias entre ciencias naturales y ciencias sociales provocaron la aparición del mismo, mencionando los aportes teóricos de Lewin, Adorno y Habermas. Finalmente, se analiza cómo este enfoque de investigación podría ayudarnos a conocer cómo mejorar las prácticas relacionadas a la educación en el país.
