Besides, this paper will take a closer look to the perspectives from other authors towards the presence of black culture in the Traditions, and we will give a new critical stance.En este artículo se revisa la problemática de lo negro representado en las Tradiciones peruanas de Ricardo Palma. Afrodescendiente a caballo entre dos mundos, el Patriarca de las letras peruanas habló, escribió y actuó como miembro integrado a un grupo sociocultural determinado, cuando en el fondo de sí mismo sabía que su verdadera identidad lo vinculaba a un grupo distinto del cual siempre se sintió consciente o inconscientemente deudor.
