This article presents the Tetra experimental structure in the city of Chimbote as an example of a punctual and modest intervention that, through the work of professionals, students and community members, manages to activate an abandoned and at risk public space thanks to a correct understanding of the needs and potentialities of the landscape.La arquitectura, por muy modesta que sea, debe cumplir con satisfacer las necesidades básicas de habitabilidad y dignificar la vida del ser humano. En ese sentido, la sombra en el espacio público se vuelve un elemento fundamental para poder permitir su ocupación y, con ella generar los beneficios y potencialidades de la convivencia en comunidad.
