The quantitative route, cross-sectional design and explanatory level were followed. Two existing validated constructs were used to measure students' perceptions through a virtual questionnaire. To find cause-effect, simple linear regression of SPSS 27 statistic was used. The result of the inferential statistics found that affective commitment positively and significantly influences students' loyalty at a moderate level (R2 = 0.588***). The findings infer that the emotional bond generated by students with the university increases their levels of loyalty, identification and feelings of permanence.El documento presentó por finalidad examinar el efecto del compromiso afectivo en la lealtad de los estudiantes de educación superior. La población estudiantil involucrada corresponde a un total de 2029 estudiantes pertenecientes a tres facultades y matriculados en el semestre académico 2021-II de una universidad pública de la provincia de Andahuaylas, región Apurímac, del cual, se recopilaron datos de 271 estudiantes equivalente al 13,36 % de la población. Se siguió la ruta cuantitativa, diseño transversal y nivel explicativo. Se utilizaron dos constructos validados existentes para medir las percepciones de los estudiantes a través de un cuestionario virtual. Para hallar la causa-efecto se recurrió al uso de la regresión lineal simple del estadígrafo SPSS 27. El resultado de la estadística inferencial encontró que el compromiso afectivo influye positiva y significativamente a un nivel moderado en la lealtad de los estudiantes (R2 = 0,588).
