The motor VCN of the median, ulnar, common peroneal, tibial, and the sensory VCN of the median, ulnar, and sural nerves, their latencies and amplitudes, were evaluated. Results: The study included 56 participants, with a median age of 24 (22-26) years. The latencies of the median, ulnar, and anterior tibial nerves were <5 m/s, and of the peroneal nerves were >5 m/s. The amplitudes of the motor nerves were greater than 5mV and the sensory nerves were above 20μV; the motor velocities were greater than 50m/s, and the sensory nerves were greater than 45m/s. Conclusion: Figures are presented reflecting local VCN reference values, obtained from a young adult population residing in high altitude localities.Objetivo: Determinar los valores normales de los parámetros de velocidad de conducción nerviosa (VCN) en residentes de una ciudad localizada a gran altitud. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional analítico aplicado a personas residentes en Cusco (ubicado a 3399 m s. n. m.) sin antecedentes comórbidos conocidos. Se evaluó la VCN motora de los nervios mediano, cubital, peroneo común y tibial, así como la VCN sensitiva, latencias y amplitudes de los nervios mediano, cubital y sural. Resultados: El estudio incluyó 56 participantes, con edad mediana de 24 (22-26) años. Las latencias de los nervios medianos, cubital y tibial anterior fueron menores de 5 ms; y las de los nervios peroneos, mayores de 5 ms. Las amplitudes de los nervios motores fueron superiores a 5 mV y las de los sensitivos estuvieron por encima de los 20 μV. Las velocidades motoras estuvieron por encima de los 50 m/s y las sensitivas fueron mayores a 45 m/s.
