Objective: To compare in vitro the mechanical properties and depth of cure of bioactive bulk-fill resins versus bulk-fill composite resins. Materials and methods: An in vitro experimental study was conducted with 48 blocks of three types of resin. Each block received a load of 500 g for 30 seconds and was photopolymerized with a VALO® Cordless-Ultradent unit (1500 mW/cm2) for 4 seconds. Microhardness was evaluated using the Vickers hardness test, employing a calibrated LG® HV-1000 hardness tester. For statistical analysis, the Student's t-test and the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test were applied, considering statistical significance if p < 0.05. Results: The bioactive resin Beautifil® Bulk (BB) showed the highest microhardness, reaching a mean value of 55.1 VH (p < 0.01), followed by the resins Tetric® N-Ceram Bulk Fill (TNCBF) with 44.9 VH and Tetric® N-Flow Bulk Fill (TNFBF) with 28.8 VH. The TNFBF bulk-fill resin showed the highest compressive strength, with a mean of 222.4 MPa (p < 0.01), compared to 173.5 MPa for the TNCBF moldable resin and 129.7 MPa for the flowable BB resin. All three resins achieved a homogeneous mean curing depth of 4.0 mm (p > 0.05). Conclusions: The BB bioactive resin showed greater microhardness compared to moldable and flowable bulk-fill resins, while the TNFBF flowable bulk-fill resin showed the highest compressive strength. All three resins had similar values in terms of curing depth. |

Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio experimental in vitro con 48 bloques de tres tipos de resina. Cada bloque recibió una carga de 500 g durante 30 segundos, y se fotopolimerizó con una unidad VALO® Cordless-Ultradent (1500 mW/cm2) durante 4 segundos. La microdureza se evaluó mediante la prueba de dureza de Vickers, utilizando un durómetro calibrado LG® HV-1000. Para el análisis estadístico se aplicó la prueba t de Student y la prueba no paramétrica de Kruskal-Wallis, considerando significación estadística si p < 0,05. Resultados: La resina bioactiva Beautifil® Bulk (BB) registró la mayor microdureza, alcanzando un valor medio de 55,1 VH (p < 0,01), seguido de las resinas Tetric® N-Ceram Bulk Fill (TNCBF), con 44,9 VH, y Tetric® N-Flow Bulk Fill (TNFBF), con 28,8 VH. La resina bulk-fill fluida TNFBF mostró la mayor resistencia a la compresión, con una media de 222,4 MPa (p < 0,01), frente a 173,5 MPa de la resina moldeable TNCBF y de 129,7 MPa de la resina fluida BB. Las tres resinas evaluadas alcanzaron una profundidad de curado media homogénea de 4,0 mm (p > 0,05). Conclusiones: La resina bioactiva BB demostró mayor microdureza en comparación con las resinas bulk-fill moldeable y fluida, mientras que la resina bulk-fill fluida TNFBF presentó la mayor resistencia a la compresión. Cada bloco foi carregado com 500 g por 30 segundos e fotopolimerizado com uma unidade VALO® Cordless-Ultradent (1500 mW/cm2) por 4 segundos. A microdureza foi avaliada pelo teste de dureza Vickers, usando um testador de dureza LG® HV-1000 calibrado. Para a análise estatística, foram aplicados o teste t de Student e o teste não paramétrico de Kruskal-Wallis, considerando a significância estatística se p < 0,05. Resultados: A resina bioativa Beautifil® Bulk (BB) apresentou a maior microdureza, com um valor médio de 55,1 VH (p < 0,01), seguida pelas resinas Tetric® N-Ceram Bulk Fill (TNCBF) com 44,9 VH e Tetric® N-Flow Bulk Fill (TNFBF) com 28,8 VH. A resina bulk-fill fluida TNFBF apresentou a maior resistência à compressão, com uma média de 222,4 MPa (p < 0,01), em comparação com 173,5 MPa para a resina fundível TNCBF e 129,7 MPa para a resina fluida BB.
